Dana Haake, DO
Dana Haake, DO is a Board Certified family practice physician. She completed her undergraduate studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. After college, she worked in the ER at Wake Med’s main campus where she got her first real-world experience in medicine. At Wake Med, she worked as a nurse’s aid, unit secretary and phlebotomist in the busy, level 1 trauma center before attending medical school.
Dr. Haake then went to Medical School at the Atlanta campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). As a psychology major, the holistic emphasis of osteopathic medicine appealed to her tremendously. Her medical school clinical rotations were spent at various sites in the southeast and south Florida and she completed her residency training in Jacksonville, Florida at St. Vincent’s Hospital. After graduating from the family medicine residency program in 2012, she was happy to come home to North Carolina. After practicing in the Charlotte area for about 5 years, she decided that Avance’s unique and innovative approach to primary care would be the ideal place for her to grow as a physician while achieving better work-life balance.
In her spare time, Dr. Haake enjoys being outdoors and staying physically fit. She likes going hiking, running, boating, playing tennis and snow skiing. Her hobbies also include cooking gluten-free recipes, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
