Sandra Aldana-Arango, FNP-C
Sandra Aldana-Arango is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners with a decade of professional nursing experience. She attended the City University of New York for both her undergraduate nursing degree and master’s degree in nursing. Practitioner Aldana-Arango began her journey working in the pediatrics emergency department as a staff nurse for eight years at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens, New York. After graduating with her master’s, she worked for three years as a nurse practitioner at the same facility in the medical observation unit treating adults with a vast range of medical conditions while also working part time at a primary care clinic.
Practitioner Aldana-Arango is an advocate for patient education. She believes in a shared decision-making process with her patients as it helps to improve understanding, management and adherence, and encourages success in the patient’s healthcare goals. Cultivating a long-lasting relationship is important and she understands that such relationships begin with trust built on honesty and open communication.
Practitioner Aldana-Arango is originally from Colombia and speaks Spanish fluently. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking for her fiancé, playing with her dog, traveling, and exploring new cultures and cuisines. Practitioner Aldana-Arango is new to North Carolina but already is in love with the weather, its scenery, and most importantly, the welcoming community.
